How a round goes
A round is thirty seconds. Every press releases one ball from the funnel above your lane, and the bucket slides back and forth underneath. You have fifty balls and no more than seven can be in the air at once, so mashing runs you dry long before the clock — each drop has to be timed to the bucket's sweep.
A ball that crosses the rim is a catch. One that clips the rim can still bounce in; one that lands on the floor is gone. The round ends at the buzzer, or earlier if every magazine is empty and nothing is still falling.
Scoring and winning
One point per ball caught. Most catches wins; equal counts share the win.
With four players and the team row switched on, stations 1 and 3 play stations 2 and 4, and a team's catches are added together.
Tips
- Aim at a bucket that is already crossing your lane. Trying to outrun it is not the game.
- The counter turns red at ten balls left — that is the moment to slow down and pick your drops.
- The bucket a Little Kids seat gets is wider and slower than the one next to it, in the same round.
