Party Package & Equipment Agreement

The commercial core: the deposit, the return window, the damage rates and the late-fee ladder — every number live from the config in force today.

Version 2026-09-01 · config revision 0

This is the commercial core: what arrives, how long you have it, what the deposit is, when it comes back, and every charge that could ever appear on your card. Nothing in it is a surprise later, because all of it is on screen before you pay.

What you get

  • The equipment listed for your package — 4 arcade stations, cables, a powered hub and an HDMI lead — for the period below.
  • A Party Pass unlocking the games for 3 days around your party date, in your party’s own timezone.
  • An invitation site, a live leaderboard, and the theme packs included with your package.
  • A pre-applied return label and a box that reseals.

The deposit

$250 is an equipment security deposit. It is charged to your card the day the box ships — not held, charged — and refunded to the same card within three business days of us receiving and inspecting the kit. We email you when the refund is sent.

The deposit is not a payment toward ownership. If you decide to keep the box, it is applied to the purchase price at that point; if you return it, it comes back to you in full.

Returning it

You have 7 days after your party. The label is already on the box: reseal it and hand it to your mail carrier, or book a porch pickup from your account. Your responsibility for the kit ends at the return scan, not when we open it. If it is lost in transit on the way back to us, that is ours, not yours.

On the way out, risk is ours. While the kit is with you, it is yours to look after. On the return scan it becomes ours again.

Damage

Buttons are meant to be hit. Normal wear — scuffs, fingerprints, a scratched decal, a sticky button — costs you nothing, and we do not charge for cosmetic damage at all. Functional damage is charged at the rates below, and never above them. Every charge comes with before-and-after photographs and an itemised component list; with no photographs from us, there is no charge. You have 7 days to contest anything before it is final.

The damage waiver, if you bought it, changes that entirely: covers up to $150 of damage. no questions, no photos, no argument.

If it is not returned

After the return window, a late fee of $10 a day applies, capped at $50 in total. On day 21 the kit converts to a purchase at $279, with your deposit applied. We email you about that three separate times before it can happen, and you can stop it at any point by sending the box back or by pressing Keep It yourself. See how keeping works.

What you agree not to do

  • Re-rent it, lend it commercially, or charge anyone to use it.
  • Open the enclosures, modify the wiring, or replace the software.
  • Use it outdoors in the rain, or anywhere it will be immersed.
  • Sell it. Until you have bought it, it is not yours to sell.

Safety

The equipment is for supervised play. It contains small parts and is not suitable for children under three. The only mains-powered item is the hub’s listed power adapter — use the one we sent. Some games flash; reduced-flashing mode is in the console menu and genuinely removes or dampens those effects rather than warning you about them. If anyone at the party is photosensitive, turn it on before the first round.
