Text Message Program

Short version: if you give us your mobile number and tick one box, we text you about a party you are part of — never marketing, never anyone else’s. About 8 to 12 messages per booking, or 2 to 4 if you are a guest replying to an invitation. Reply STOP at any time and they stop.

Who is texting you

Bashcade, the birthday-party arcade rental at bashcade.com. Messages come from our registered business number and every one says who it is from.

Bashcade is a sole proprietorship: the trading name of Thiago Lima, one person, with no parent company and nothing else behind it. The text-message programme is registered to that person, and the messages set out on this page are the only ones it sends.

How you opt in

On the booking page, under your mobile number, there is a box that reads “Text me about the party”. It is unchecked when you arrive. Ticking it is the consent; leaving it alone means no texts, and everything still reaches you by email. The words beside the box are the agreement:

You can also add or change the number later in your account settings; a new number is a new consent, and removing it withdraws it.

If you are a guest replying to an invitation

There is a second, separate place a number can be given: the RSVP form on an invitation page at bashcade.com/i/…, under “Add a note or a way to reach you”. You do not have an account, you are not buying anything, and you are replying to someone else’s party. The phone field there is optional and has always been for the host; the box beside it appears only once you have typed a number, is unchecked, and is never a condition of replying — an RSVP sends identically whether you tick it or not. We text in the language you were reading the invitation in when you replied — the invitation has a language switch, and the one you used is the one we use. This consent covers that one party and expires with it. It does not put you on a list, it is not the birthday reminder further down the same page (that one is email, and it is a separate tick), and it gives the host nothing they would not have had anyway — they can see the number you left them either way. Both the number and the date you gave it are recorded against your reply; the number is deleted thirty days after the party.

If you asked to be told when a box is free

The third place a number can be given is the waitlist, which appears on the booking page when the date you wanted has no box left. The mobile field there is optional; the box beside it appears only once you have typed a number, is unchecked, and joining the list never depends on it. The words beside the box are the agreement:

Two messages and then it is over: the confirmation, and the answer — which is a person’s, written by hand, inside the few days we promised when you joined. It is not a subscription, there is nothing after it, and the email you get either way says the same thing.

What you get

• A confirmation that you are signed up, sent once, the moment you opt in.
• Your booking confirmation and the link to your invitation page.
• Delivery or pickup notices for the box.
• A reminder to test the kit the night before.
• A message on party day, when the arcade unlocks.
• Return reminders, and confirmation when your deposit is refunded.

A guest who opted in on an RSVP gets a much shorter list: a confirmation that they are signed up, sent once, the moment they tick the box; a reminder the evening before the party; and a message if the host moves it or calls it off. That is the 2 to 4. The cancellation message says it is the last one, and it is — the whole programme ends with the party it was about. Nothing else, ever, and never an offer.

Frequency: about 8 to 12 messages per booking, spread over roughly four weeks around your party date; 2 to 4 for a guest, in the week around the party. Message and data rates may apply. Nothing is sent during night-time quiet hours except a confirmation you just asked for.

How to stop, and how to get help

Reply STOP to any message and texts end immediately; you get one confirmation of that and nothing more. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help, or write to help@bashcade.com. Opting out changes nothing else about your order — the same updates continue by email.

Your number

We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with any third party for their own use, including for marketing. The only party that handles the number is the provider that delivers the text on our behalf. Everything else about your data is in the Privacy Policy; the agreement you are entering is the Terms of Service. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Sharing with subcontractors who provide support services — the provider that delivers the message on our behalf — is permitted solely to deliver the messages you asked for.
